A bit about...

Scrabble - Born during the Great Depression, this game, created by Alfred Mosher Butts, was a combination of vocabulary skills, crossword puzzles and anagrams.  It was originally named "Lexico" but Butts later decided to call it "Criss-Cross Words."  The name "Scrabble" was trademarked in 1948.  Legend has it that the president of Macy's discovered the game in the early 1950's and ordered some for his store.  Soon everybody had to have one and the craze began... For 2-4 players  Ages 8 and up

Pictionary - You don't have to be a great artist but it can't hurt!  This game can be a great party game as it accomodates 3-16 players.  Each square of the game board has a letter or shape that identifies the type of picture the player must draw.  The teammates try to guess the word from the drawing.  Amazingly, it's not as hard as it sounds!  The winner is the person or team who reaches the last space on the board before everyone else.   Ages 12-adult.
